Claret Cup Cactus metal print by Karen Slagle.   Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I took this image with a Nikon D300 and a Nikkor 105, 2.8 macro lens. This was taken in Texas in a neighbor's cactus garden. He has a collection of cacti from many places.

This would look awesome in your Adobe home or a home decorated in the popular Santa Fe Style of the American Southwest.

The Claret Cup , Echinocereus Triglochidiatus cactus is also called a hedgehog, mojave mound or kingcup cactus. The name is from the Greek, echinos, meaning "a hedgehog" and cereus meaning, "a wax taper". These names refer to the plant's spiny resemblance to a hedgehog ( or so the early Europeans thought) and the plant's shape, respectively. Trilochididus means " three barbed bristle" and refers to the straight spines arranged in clusters of three. Also, called Claret cup cactus, after the reddish, cup-shaped flowers
