Artist's Description
I love taking horse pictures and it's even better when they show some of their distinct personalities. These were two different pictures taken on the same day. I combined them and added several layers of clouds, textures and other enhancements. I get a hoot every time I look at these Arabian mares making faces like people do when they take selfies, thus the title. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed putting it together. These pictures were taken in the Texas panhandle.
A selfie is a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone. Selfies are often shared on social networking services such as Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. They are usually flattering and made to appear casual. Most selfies are taken with a camera held at arm's length or pointed at a mirror, rather than by using a self-timer.
About Karen Slagle
I have recently gotten into bird photography and really love taking their pictures. I also have a passion for clouds and the Texas landscape when the storms come rolling in. Lightning is a favorite subject during storms. I love macro photography and all the hidden detail in these amazing closeups. My arsenal consists of all Nikon cameras, flash units and Nikkor lenses. I know, I'm back so soon. Seeing these girls, I keep thinking back to how aware these horses are of their beauty from the time they are born. prancing and floating above the ground with their tails high in the air like a short plume. Ears perked forward, head high, and eyes making sure you are following their every move. This work proves it follows through their whole life. Personification Arabian.
