Description
Out on the east central plains of New Mexico sits this old, abandoned adobe house. The red metal roof is high and very sloped due to the heavy snow that falls in this area. The snow will slide off as the sun heats the roof. I came upon this place on the way home. It sits off the road on a less traveled highway through ranch country inhabited by the Hispanic decendents of those that came before. I took the liberty to add a grey mare, giving life to this home. The watcher mare sees all, hears all and is ever watchful over her domain. The windmills in this area are still in use to this day, pumping water from the aquafer several hundred feet below the surface. I added a couple of textures giving this a more painterly feel. Hope you enjoy the view.

Can't look at the church without also seeing who's watching. That's one lucky horse. Great textures and tones in those grasses. Wonderfully processed. L/F

Such a gorgeous scene. I love that bold red roof on this. The day, to me, looks like a lazy, hot summer day.

The day was hot, so glad you like it....This one too is a fave of mine but has not done well.

This is fantastic....the white horse in the perfect location, the birds in the sky, and I love (among other things), the richness of the colors in the grasses in the foreground. Beautifully done. v/f
